Our Story

This organization did not start in a boardroom or a grant cycle. It started in a decision a mother made about what her sons' story was going to be.

Tracy Washington raised Isaiah and Brandon on her own while building her career in leadership development and consulting. She worked hard, stayed present, and made intentional decisions about who and what she allowed into her sons' lives — especially the men.

She understood that while she could give her sons love, structure, faith, and direction, they also needed trusted men who could model manhood alongside her. So she built a community around them — mentors from their church, coaches, family friends with strong character — and she treated that community as infrastructure, not an afterthought.

Tuesday nights were Pizza Hut nights. Not because it was glamorous — but because that table was where her sons talked about their dreams, their fears, and what was happening in their world. She was building something. She just did not have a name for it yet.

Isaiah and Brandon are now in their late thirties and early forties. They are businessmen. Fathers. Men of faith who invest in younger men. And people started asking Tracy the same question: how did you raise them like that?

She did not have a quick answer. What she had was a life — a series of deliberate, sometimes difficult, always intentional choices made over two decades of raising sons. A belief that her sons deserved excellence. A refusal to accept that their circumstances defined their ceiling.

That life was the blueprint. And Moms Raising Successful Sons was built to make it accessible to every family that needs it.

Tracy founded MRSS in 2023 with Isaiah and Brandon as co-founders. The mission was clear: take what their family lived and build a structure other families can step into.

Not a program that runs a few Saturdays and disappears. A real organization with a real model — connecting sons to the male leadership and mentorship they need, equipping mothers with tools, community, and strategy, and building a two-generation ecosystem that produces lasting outcomes.

MRSS is headquartered in Dallas, TX. We are currently developing school-district partnerships across the Dallas-Fort Worth area and preparing for our first formal pilot season.
